Optical identification system of three-dimensional random phase object by use of speckle patterns in propagation distances

چکیده
An optical identification system of a three-dimensional (3D) random phase object by use of speckle patterns in different propagation distances is proposed and evaluated experimentally. The 3D random phase object is used as a 3D key. It can be secure when the scattering is strong enough because the interferometric measurement is not applied. The identification is implemented by evaluating crosscorrelation value between the measured and stored speckle patterns. To achieve a higher level of identification, two speckle patterns obtained at different propagation distances are used. The tolerance of 3D position of 3D random phase object are evaluated. We also investigate the influence of occlusion and binarization of speckle patterns on identification capability.

Superoscillation in speckle patterns.
Waves are superoscillatory where their local phase gradient exceeds the maximum wavenumber in their Fourier spectrum. We consider the superoscillatory area fraction of random optical speckle patterns. This follows from the joint probability density function of intensity and phase gradient for isotropic Gaussian random wave superpositions. Strikingly, this fraction is 1/3 when all the waves in t...

We present an optical method for measuring the real-time three-dimensional (3D) translational velocity of a diffusely scattering rigid object observed through an imaging system. The method is based on a combination of the motion of random speckle patterns and regular fringe patterns. The speckle pattern is formed in the observation plane of the imaging system due to reflection from an area of t...

We present a novel approach for three-dimensional (3D) measurements that includes the projection of coherent light through ground glass. Such a projection generates random speckle patterns on the object or on the camera, depending if the configuration is transmissive or reflective. In both cases the spatially random patterns are seen by the sensor. Different spatially random patterns are genera...

In Dynamic Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (DESPI), deformation analysis could be done for successively acquired frame data of interfering speckle patterns with no additional frames like phase shifting speckle patterns. Our final goal is to obtain a temporally varying process of two-dimensional strain field. Two normal strains and shearing strain are derived by numerical derivatives o...

Over the years, many computed optical interferometric techniques have been developed to perform high-resolution volumetric tomography. By utilizing the phase and amplitude information provided with interferometric detection, post-acquisition corrections for defocus and optical aberrations can be performed. The introduction of the phase, though, can dramatically increase the sensitivity to motio...
